Next delivery from GBM Gleisbaumechanik: The 20th GAF 100 track maintenance vehicle for Deutsche Bahn has been modernized and handed over to the customer.
As part of the modernization process, the GAF 100s are first disassembled at the plant in Kirchmöser. Key components such as the powertrain, wheel sets, driver’s cab, and loading crane are then comprehensively refurbished. This brings the vehicles up to the latest technical standards and prepares them for long-term continued use. The modernization also increases the vehicles’ efficiency.
The GAF 100s are used in a variety of ways by Deutsche Bahn. Among other things, they assist with maintenance and transport work on the rail infrastructure and are deployed throughout the entire German rail network. The project currently involves the modernization of 45 GAF 100s. With the delivery of the 20th modernized vehicle, nearly half of the ongoing modernization program has been completed.
