Spreewerk Lübben GmbH receives waste disposal permit in accordance with §16 BImSchG

After a lengthy approval process, Spreewerk Lübben GmbH has received the waste disposal permit in accordance with §16 BImSchG. This is of central importance for further recycling and disposal activities at the site.

 The permit was granted for a recycling volume of up to 20,000 tons of lithium-ion batteries per year. Additionally, the site has been granted a permission to store 2,500 tons of hazardous waste and lithium-ion batteries. For this purpose, the company received a corresponding building permit for a cold storage hall on the site.

The permit also allows for the delaboration of ammunition and disposal of objects containing explosives.

Obtaining the waste disposal permit in accordance with §16 BImSchG lays an important foundation for future investments at the site.
