At the end of June, the Do228 NXT demonstrator carried out an impressive demonstration flight. One of the Do228 NXT’s distinctive features is its ability to take off and land on unpaved runways. The new aircraft demonstrated precisely this capability at Tannheim airfield in Baden-Württemberg, where take-off and landing manoeuvres were carried out on a grass runway as part of a customer demonstration.

The Do228 NXT thus successfully completed its second official mission following the ILA. The privately operated airfield, situated at an altitude of 1,903 feet and featuring a usable runway length of 710 and 842 metres respectively, provided ideal test conditions. Despite it being a particularly hot day, flight operations ran smoothly and the demonstration of the Do228 NXT’s short-range capabilities impressed everyone present.

This successful operation under real-world conditions underlines the aircraft’s flexibility and performance, whilst also providing fresh impetus for the further marketing of the Do228 NXT.
